Protection Coordination Study
The goal of this study will be to coordinate the settings of the whole phase and earth protective scheme in order to ensure the selectivity of the medium and low voltage network. The selectivity study takes particularly take into account:
- The results of the short-circuit study
- The operating modes of the network
- The setting of the protection installed upstream from the factory installation: on the 11kV side.
- The setting of the protections installed downstream: that protection installed on LV feeders.
Scope of data required for the study included all upstream, downstream, and load list as follows

- Upstream Protection setting
- Transformers data sheet
- Motors
The report of the study will bring out pertinent protection settings required as standards based on the network and propose recommended settings as follows:
- Network and operating modes description
- Hypothesis for fault detection and elimination, and selectivity
- Maximum and minimum short-circuit currents taken into account
- Selectivity graphs needed for coordination understanding
- Relays settings table
